- Wet specimen in a glass container. Vermiform process, in longitudinal section, showing appendicitis from an adolescent. The subserous vessels are unusually distinct and in the mesenteriole the lymph nodes are enlarged and on section homogeneous. The vermiform process is curved regularly towards its mesenteriole. Section shows the walls intact but the mucosa swollen and congested and the lumen filled with catarrhal debris.
