- Gall-bladder in longitudinal section, showing cholelithiasis. From an adult. The gall-bladder is atrophied and measures some 30 mm. in length. The serosa is congested and thickened from peritonitis; the wall is thick and fibrous and the mucosa pale and atrophic. The gall-bladder contains two spherical, morular, pale cholesterol gall-stones.
