- Gangrenous foot This is a right foot showing gangrene. From an adult in whom the foot spontaneously separated at the ankle. The skin looks dry and shrunken and everywhere has a brown discoloration. It is limited proximally by an irregular line of demarcation proximal to which the tissues appear gangrenous and sloughy. The articular surfaces of the talus are partly destroyed by septic arthritis.
