President's Badge and Chain.
The badge in 18ct yellow gold and enamel is an irregular hexagon with sunburst surrounding enamel crest. It is 4.5” long and weighs 10 oz. It was made by Hamilton & Inches and the hallmark is Edinburgh 1965. It is inscribed “The Presidents”. The chain is 9ct yellow gold consisting of 24 links with shallow triangular links and elongated triangular and irregular hexagonal links. The badge and chain were presented to the College in 1965 by Mr Leonard Bailey, Managing Director of Ethicon Ltd.
