- U -Tube Manometer
- @IWP
- U- Tube, Manometer used for measuring the pressure of a fluid or gases, consisting of a tube marked with a scale and containing a relatively incompressible fluid, such as mercury. The level of the fluid in the tube varies directly with the pressure of the fluid being measured. They can be used for measuring arterial blood pressure. If the legs of this manometer are connected to separate sources of pressure, the liquid will rise in the leg with the lower pressure and drop in the other leg. The difference between the levels is a function of the applied pressure and the specific gravity of the pressurizing and fill fluids.
