- Wax models showing the early development of mammals by Adolf Ziegler, after Theodor Bischoff, first made in the 1850s. Wax models illustrating the pre-implantation and early post-implantation stages of human embryonic development from the 1-cell unfertilised stage, as observed shortly after ovulation, to the primitive streak stage (approx. day 14 of development). This series consists of 25 models, of which we have 13 - models 1-11, 19, 23 and 24.
