Infantile stenosis of the stomach
GC.8665
The stomach showing infantile stenosis of the pylorus
From a male aged 10 weeks, the subject of infantile pyloric stenosis who died forty-eight hours after a longitudinal linear pylorotomy.
The stomach is dilated and the pylorus, which shows some swelling on its convexity, was densely hard on palpation. The pylorotomy incision has been inadequate as it does not reach either extremity of the induration. There is a slight traumatic extravasation of blood into the wall of the pyloric antrum.
