- Maisonneuve's urethrotome in wooden case. The urethrotome is passed through the stricture and the blade opened forward, cutting through the stricture. The end of the urethrotome unscrews to reveal a thread which can be attached to a filiform bougie or whip, to guide the operator through the correct passage. The box has a plaque on the top 'Mr H Wade' and the instrument name on the edge 'Urethrotome Maissoneuve's, it also has a number 20. One instrument has the makers mark 'Down Bros, London' inscribed.
