Bladder with other parts of the Urogenital System, showing Ectopia Vesicae and. Epispadias.
The exposed. vesical mucosa is swollen and. congested due to chronic irritation. The ureteral orifices are indicated. by glass rods. The middle lobe of the prostate is enlarged and projects as a hemispherical nodule about 2 cms. in diameter. Immediately below the middle lobe of the prostate is the colliculus seminalis. The penis is short and broad and the floor of the urethra is represented by a broad gutter. The prepuce is absent.
The preparation seen from behind presents from above downwards:
a) The kidneys and ureters. The right ureter and to a lesser degree the right renal pelvis are dilated.
b) Hernial sac between the lower parts of the Mm. recti abdominis, forming the posterior wall of the extroverted bladder.
c) Superior vesical vessels.
d) The ductus deferentes with their terminal ampullae.
e) Seminal vesicles and enlarged prostate which presents on the left side.
f) Trigonum urogenitale.
g) The corpora cavernosa.
h) Testes in their coverings.
There is no bone in the preparation and there must therefore have been a considerable gap in the pubic arch.
