GC.6109
Wet specimen in a glass jar.
Gall-bladder, showing cholelithiasis, removed by cholecystectomy from an adult female.
The gall-bladder is slightly elongated. It is pale in colour and towards the cystic duct the serosa shows some fibrinous deposit. The wall is of normal thickness and the interior of the gall-bladder is smooth. The gall-bladder contains a number of similar spherical calculi some 8 mm. in diameter each compounded of many small brownish yellow nodules of cholesterol stained with bile pigment and glued together by inspissated mucus.
