- Presentation Case of Amputating Instruments. Presented to Dr McRae “By the students attending the anatomical rooms of Mr Lizars during the session of 1827 & 1828 as a mark of respect for the professional acquirements which he displayed as their demonstrator”. The case contains two layers of amputation knives and equipment. The ivory handled instruments made by Young Edinburgh. One instrument bares the mark 'Allison'. Two tortoise shell instruments marked 'Still'.
