- Section of a calculus from the bladder The preparation is half of a longitudinal section of the calculus Removed from an adult male by left lateral perinaeal cystotomy. Part of the calculus was firmly embraced by the annular entrance of a retroprostatic pouch. The calculus on removal weighed 198 gm. The calculus is oval, measures 225 mm. in maximum diameter, is composed of uric acid and its surface is about equally divided by an oblique smooth deep sulcus. Between some of the laminae narrow fissures indicate the quondam presence of organic material which has undergone disintegration.
