From a male aged 32 years. Three years ago he suffered from vague pain in both knees which was diagnosed as arthritis and for which he was off work for six months. Five weeks ago he sustained a slight twist of the left knee which locked the joint for several hours Since then the knee has been locked on several occasions At operation the posterior half of the medial meniscus was found completely separated from its peripheral and posterior cornual attachments and turned forwards on the upper aspect of the anterior horn.
