square shaped body with attached hook joined with a swivel joint and screw and joint at centre of the shaft. on same side as swivel hook is a heart shaped attachment which is adjustable. other end has pelican tip with grooved hatching on the top. iron work shows significant signs corrosion and rust, old and inactive. shaft has rectangualr shaped cut out at the location of the swivel joint. Pelican. Mid-eighteenth-century. A primitive and very unusual all-metal type.
