- Ophthalmoscope, Morton's reflecting direct - in case; Case contains the detachable handle and the instrument itself. The case has a space for a large lense which is missing. The Morton ophthalmoscope was a model which used an independent light source to detect disease, created by Andrew Stanford Morton. He popularized the use of non-self-luminous and self-illuminated ophthamoscopes in the 19th century.
