- This lithotrite has jaws operated by screw mechanism. The upper jaw is hollow presumably to allow broken pieces of stone to escape. There is an attachment on the side which could potentially lock the jaws in place and prevent the screw from loosening? There is no instrument makers mark but the museum number has been inscribed onto the handle.
