- HC.I.70.3
- Two steel plates, a screw and three screw nails, removed from a patient who 50 years previously had sustained a fractured tibia for which internal fixation had been carried out. For a period of two years a swelling had developed at the site of the injury and steadily increased. When it was opened it was found to be an abscess cavity containing blood clot and necrotic tissue and lying loose in it were the two plates and screw nails by which the plates had been fixed.
