The right half of the first to sixth thoracic vertebrae has been removed after sagittal section. A sinistroconcave thoracicolumbar scoliosis has the maximum of curvature between the centra of the eleventh and twelfth thoracic and rotation carries the vertebral spinous processes to the left. The centra of the vertebrae involved are diminished vertically in proportion to the degree of concavity. The distal lumbar and the proximal thoracic spinal segments show slight compensatory dextroconcavities.
