- Apple Scoop. Nineteenth century. Apple scoop, made of a sheep's right metacarpus. The marrow has been hollowed out and the natural curve of the bone used as a spoon to scrape off portions of apple where dentures could not be afforded due to their expense. Marked JS on the base, with the object number carved next to it. Tip shows brown staining, possible caused by tobacco.
