Otto Ulmgren

Bronze medal struck to celebrate the 80th birthday (12 Dec. 1924) of Professor Otto Ulmgren (1844-1932). After having studied in Vienna, Breslau, and Berlin, he graduated M.D. at Uppsala University in 1877. The subject of his thesis was a history of dentistry. He was the first professor of dental surgery at the Dental School, Stockholm, and retired in 1911. A very active member of professional societies in North European countries, he enriched dental literature by many outstanding contributions.
