- Watercolour drawing of the upper end of the right femur of a solider wounded by a musket ball at the Battle of Waterloo, 18th June 1815. The impact of the musket ball has created a deep cavity in the neck of the femur in which the ball is almost completely embedded. A hairline crack extends up to the head of the femur, while another fracture extends down the bone.
