- Fragments of various shell casings, including part of the nose of a shell including the thread for a detonator, and part of a grapeshot round that would have been contained within a shell casing. Fragments such as these would have caused extensive damage to personell. When a shell detonated, fragments were thrown out at hundreds of miles an hour across a radius much larger than the actual explosion area.
